I'd recommend a double action. Also, if you're shooting primarily rat shot, I'd recommend just buying a cheap one. Got to some pawn shops and pick one up for around $100. Academy has some cheap new ones.

If you want to save some money you can go with an Heritage Rough Rider Academy Sells them. You get a 22LR cylinder and a 22Mag cylinder for about 170.00. I own one its not the fanciest revolver but for rat shot and plinking its pretty good.

I agree with the Heritage. It's good enough to get the job done. If you wanted to do more with it then I'd suggest the Ruger. My dad has the single six for trapping and its awesome. I use my MKII but thats just me.

I agree about the rough rider, I have one and it is pretty accurate. I bought it cause it was cheap, but it has impressed me so far.

its really not a bad little gun. Its not as smooth as some of my higher end SA revolvers but its accurate like you stated.

I don't use it, but I think it's the only thing you can carry when bowhunting in La.

As stated above, could also be used during early teal season when getting in duck blinds and suchs for snakes.

Could be he has a barn with mice and rats and doesn't want to shoot holes in his barn...rat shot has quite a few uses.

And mice at the camp... I think i would like something stainless and double action with a longer barrel. I know it might cost more.

You can get into a Taurus for a little under 400.00 in a SS model.

I don't own any Taurus guns but if I did it would be a revolver. They are know for there solid builds on revolvers. if it felt good in my hand when I picked it up I would not be hesitant to buying it.

I have the S&W 10 shot long barrel, silver and black

To be honest it is too heavy to carry around all day. I would buy something smaller if you plan on carrying it around in a holster.

ratshot works good when you are having to kill snakes in your koi pond.

Just sayin
