If we get 3 QB's this year, I think we loose out on any top QB's for the next two years. Creating a thin situation in the future. I know we have a big need to fill now but I am a big supporter of taking one every year and not several. Scares away recruits.

They have to restock the shelves.

At least they're not Florida.

You lose two senior QB's at the end of next year.

USC and other schools have 3-4 four and give stars on the roster at the same time. I don't really see this being a problem if its a kid who really wants to be at LSU.

Won't matter b/c they'll be separated in terms of classification. We need 2 in this class no matter what, and I wouldn't be opposed to getting 3 assuming one greyshirts and delays enrollment until 2012.

First, let's see if we actually get 3 QB's. Second, right now there are no real gems in LA for next year that show tons of promise. We have been on early for a few guys from out of state - kid from Kentucky and the kid from Houston who blew out his knee this year. The situation is always less certain when you rely on out of state recruits. If we end up with three this year, I have no problem with it.

Someone else brought up a subject similar to this on another board. My opinion is that you never base your decision on this recruiting class on a future recruiting class. You get what you need now because what you need might not be there next year like it is now. Might taking 3 QB's cause someone to not commit next year? Probably, but I really don't think it would cause anyone the year after to think twice about it. The reason being is that person would be at least a year behind those guys, if he redshirted, he would be 2. Most high school QB's had to wait until at least their sophmore year in high school to start, so why wouldn't they think that they would have to wait just as long if not longer to start in college? Like I said, you get what you need now and let next year and the year after that worry about itself.

When senior QB Leak left Florida, 4* John Brantley & 5* Cam Newton committed to Florida despite that Tebow guy returning as a soph.

Next year, we will have 2 seniors leaving. Add to that the possibility of a freak injury to either Mett/Prescott?/Bridgewater?/Rivers or just factor in unforeseen dismal play, and our situation demands we get recruits while we can.

Great talent won't get scared away, they will just transfer for a shitload of money.
