Patrick Peterson's play vs. his attitude

to PP for his special teams play today! He put us in positions to succeed time and time again. However, his unsportsmanlike penalty on the last fair catch was absolutely unnecessary. You did your job and caught the punt. Now go to the sideline and let our offense have a chance. The sack/fumble had much more to do with this penalty and the lack of offensive line protection (not only on that play, but throughout the game) than a poor decision by JJ.
Also, on a note unrelated to this game, has anyone else noticed that Peterson is below average on run support? He is an amazing tackler; however, he is often out of position (in my mind due to his attitude: the fact that he thinks he can just out-athlete everyone)... Patrick Peterson is one of the best defensive players I have ever had the privilege to watch, but with proper attitude adjustment he could improve to be even better than anyone could imagine.

pretty sure the arky player said some pretty rank shite to get a rise out of him, but you are right he should have kept a cooler head. Blaming either him or JJ for the sack fumble is ridiculous, we lost that game long before we had that false hope.

Don't think LSU has anybody on staff that can make anyone better. At any position.

Yeah he lost his cool. He's never done that for us before. Just ugly ending to the game.

So.. JoJo LaFell could have come out of high school & walked outo the Panthers WR corp?
Do you eat a lot of Lima beans?

Just a question. not a excuse.
Peterson called fair catch. The Arkansas player lets him catch it. Then the Arkansas player steps forward and chest bumps him. I agree on Peterson tossing the ball at him for 15 yards. But the Kicking team isn't allowed to touch the returner on a fair catch situation. So shouldn't there have been offsetting penalties?

Seriously shut the f*ck up. Peterson's been a great role model for the younger players on the team.

hmmm Who coached him ?

There is a fine line between confidence and arrogance and Peterson walks that line on a consistent basis... For the most part, I agree he has been great for LSU and been on the right side of the aforementioned line. Today, however, he put us in a worse situation with his arrogance.

When Miles signed him, maybe we flew is H.S. coach in to "Ccoach him up" huh?

fwiw Peterson did the exact same thing earlier in the game and it wasnt called on him. And at that point it really didn't matter anyway. I could understand him being frustrated with how the offense screwed the defense today.

I can definitely agree with that...

After I saw the replay I thought the penalty might be on Ar-Kansas. I think Peterson was trying to draw a foul...so I have no problem with the 6 yard penalty he got.
To blame JJ's fumble on Peterson is NUTS. JJ is a JOKE!

Maybe you should check and see who the WR coach was while Jo Jo was here.

Which of the 2 do you need to know about?
Also, how did Perry Riley end up getting drafted in the exact same spot a Bradie James? LSU's first NFL LB'er taken since the DiNardo years. hmm..

Didn't they take turns screwing each other?
Allowing touchdown plays of 80, 85 and 39 yards doesn't give the defense any excuse to point at the offense, does it?
A defense is screwed by an offense when a turnover causes it to protect a short field. Failure to protect a very long field twice is neither defensible nor forgivable. Except for three plays, the LSU defense did what it usually does. But those three plays are the story of the game. The offense played at the level we've come to expect -- not acceptable, yet good enough to win without all the mess-ups in every phase of the game. I'm still thinking the Tigers beat Arkansas if they don't repeatedly screw up. Mistakes were prevalent/abundant throughout the season. Only this time the mistakes were fatal.

Well since i was talking about coaches that are still here, you tell me.
Better yet, tell me which players have been coached up under the coaches we have now.

You have a point, but Peterson's return game along with the interception and the bad snap on the punt should have produced more points...

Should I start with Pat Peterson saying when he got here (LSU) he didn't know where to line up? Or should we talk about players like Lafell, Chad Jones, Richard Dickson, or Defensive players like Nevis, Mathieu & Sheppard, Montgomery? Or the 3 RB's that under Miles, each rushed for over 1,000 yards?

Are you really going to fall back on pure talent? Granted they are more experienced now. Never said said they couldn't spot talent.
And again I'm talking about coaches who are here now.
