JJ still has a glaring problem in the trajectory on his downfield passes. If the LBs for Ark drop back to 10 yards JJ will throw INTs. He had several passes tipped that were lucky to not be intercepted and a few where the LB was inches away. The INT was the exact same issue, no loft on the pass. If he keep ignoring the first level of the defense he will pay for it.

The INT was just plain under thrown by about 7 yards.

Ridley and Ford will keep those LBs honest

We rush for over 200 yards and win the game. We want the LBs to drop back from the line. Arkansas struggles tremendously stopping the run. Pushing their linebackers back would be a death sentence.

Don't forget JJ on the read option as well.

He short armed that int. very badly. Here's to hoping he knew just how much he needed to put on it to get it over the LBs against Ole Miss.
Remember we were playing one of the worst pass defenses in the leauge.

To clarify, on obvious passing downs

If they try and do this on a regular basis to stop JJ throwing the ball, Ridley and Ford will eat the Arky D alive.

mississippi state ran all over those Arky LB's last week. If Relf could throw a half-arse decent ball and Ballard doesn't try to be a hero the Fighting Cowbells win that game. I don't think we run Arky out of the stadium but if Moo State can bring them to double OT I don't see why we can't win this game. Mallet is not Tom Brady. Yeah he has 27 TD's, but hes also thrown at least one pick in 7 games this year. Id be more concerned about their running game which seems to have hit its stride in the last few weeks.

He had one where he rifled it and it got deflected and the short thrown ball (this happened only 2 plays after buddy's helmet ran into his hand) that go intercepted, one he threw out of bounds, and one where DP gave up, those were his only incompletions and everything else was on the money.

If he stays the same way he was last week, we easily score into the 40-50 range.

I'm not arguing that his passes are pretty. However, he doesn't throw many picks. Maybe he was throwing the passes the way he threw them because the LBs were up? Maybe?

I agree with keeping the LB's honest with the run, however RS also keeps the LB's on their toes because he's a guy you have to cover if you see him in motion. We should be doing some fake sweep read options with sheppard just like ole miss did to us, it basically works like a triple option
