We are 10-1 and not many of us expected us to be at this point.

Some Observations :

1. Our offense found some it's self yesterday with the Ridley & Ford combo. RR and DP have emerged as our best WR's.

2. R.Shep is not yet living up to his potential as a WR and he has been a non factor lately.

3. We have found out that when we open up the playbook, good things happen. That pass to Clement was a beauty.

4. Our Freshmen on Defense were exposed yesterday and the overall "D" need some rest and fresh legs.

5. After watching the Arkansas/ Miss State game, the hogs will attack us early and they will continue to attack.

6. We have to hit Mallet hard early in the game and make him hear footstep for the remainder.

I am proud of this team so far and their ability to not quit. Sure we have won a couple of games that most teams would have lost, but the fact that our players play hard for 60 minutes is the real cause and effect for us being 10-1.

Defense is tired?

We are gonna put on a show on how to pressure Mallett.

the option style offenses (Auburn/Ole Miss) are hard to defend since they are assignment based defenses...Our defense is aggressive and if they over-persue, you have a huge cut back lane and the fact that running QBs are always hard to defend....

The offense Arky runs is perfect for how our defense plays "scheme based"..Mallet can't run and the LSU defense is fast enough to compete throughout

I have no doubt that the defense will be just fine....11-1 on the line and a BCS bowl....I like our chances...

Defense is not tired. They played like the did against AUB. The Linebackers left little to be desired and Eric Reid had a bad game by repeatedly losing outside leverage to the Ole Miss ground game.

I think the D is better suited to match up with ARKY as Mallet poses no threat to run. All I hope is that Chavis heavily blitzes his arse.

Couldn't have said it better. Our D struggles with mobile QBs but thrives against drop back passers. Our boys should be ok against Arkie.

I completely agree with athletemed, we match up with the Arky/Bama style offenses much better than the Auburn/Ole Miss style...I think we will be fine.

The defense is not tired, its running QB's who are adept at "handing and pulling" the ball that is the issue. Newton and Masoli, thats the issue.

As far as the defense being tired:

I was pulling for Arky to go in to overtime, last night. The more the better.

The Chief is good at scheming against non mobile QB's. I think The Chief and our D come up with a good plan on Mallett. We need to run, run, run like crazy. Ridley, Ford, Shep, JJ all need to run well and control the time of possession and no turnovers. Do this and we win! Oh yeah, and score TDs when we get into the Red Zone. I like Jasper but damn, I like TDs much more.

I don't think our D is tired. I think they had an off night, and give Ole Miss credit. They gave us a lot to look at and cover. Masoli, regardless of his personal crap, is a very talented quarterback and tough as nails, and Bolden is very talented in his own right.

One more thing... This was Ole Miss and Houston Nutt. Who didn't think that they were coming to play LSU and give LSU their very best? You have a team that hates LSU with everything in them, and a coach that could make you think you can put your head through a brick wall just after you had a concussion from failing previously. Of course Ole Miss is going to pull it all out, and they did.

I think the team displays the essence of bending and not breaking and winning. I think week to week it varies but they are consistent.

As I noted last night we have trouble with QBs with criminal records. Mallet should be no problem, as he has a clean record.

The Hogs will put up 400-500 yards of offense on us, with a lot of that coming from that Davis kid. Hopefully we'll get a few turnovers and put up 400 yards of offense too. 50-48 Tigers.

Chavis for some reason has a problem game planning against run based QBs. 2001 SEC Champ game-Shuts down Davey and knocks him out of game and Mauck comes in and runs through Tenn defense. Hopefully they will look at this and fix it before Oregon next year.

I hope that it is not a 50-48 game. I dont know if the old ticker can take another last minute victory.

I sure would like to beat a good team in a dominating fashion to shut up those ESPN experts.
