I feel some on here will not like this deal at all. As it doesn't look sexy at first glance but I still like it. So I'm prepared to be fully ripped by my fellow hornetards.

Stephen Jackson/Nazr Mohammed

For Peja/MT5

Both guys coming this way are experienced veteran players. That have played very deep into the playoffs. SJax slides right into the 2 guard position. He can stroke it, put it on the floor. Plus he's long and plays solid D.

Mohammed would make for a GREAT backup to Emeka. He's a big man that knows his role and capabilities. Plus he's got an expiring of 6 million.

I don't pretend to try and understand all the NBA rules involving the salary cap (plus I know they are probably changing after this season), but do we really want to be stuck with 2 more years of Stephen Jackson @$8 million considering he is already 32?

I don't think that is actually that bad of a contract. I don't know his injury history though.

Basketball wise, I don't think it is a bad trade.

Chemistry wise, I'm not so sure.

When Jackson is focused, he's awesome. When he's mad, he acts like a 3 yr old.

I don't want this POS anywhere near the Hornets.

He's a good basketball player, but no thanks.

Basketball wise: it's not terrible, you could make better moves or you could make worse moves... but you'd have to try real hard.

Chemistry wise: it's catastrophic.

Demps is earning his money by being a good judge of chemistry and fit. So far the only mistake appears to be Bayless, and that one needs more time before judging and even if it ends up being a bad move, it was probably lobbied for pretty heavily by Monty rather than being a Demps target.

I think Bayless will end up being a very good acquisition. Just my 2 cents.

From Monty to journalists to nbatards, Bayless has enough people high on him that I'll give him a chance, I'm just saying if it doesn't work out I count that one against Monty not Demps. Demps is still 3/3 on trades IMO, so hopefully he'll make the right decision on what to do with Peja, even if that means doing the hard thing and keeping him.

I think this is going to work out fine down the road, just a gut feeling. If nothing else he seems to hustle and work hard in game.

Eta: I see what your saying about it being on Monty and I agree.

agreed...he's gradually getting a little better and starting to find his true role on this team as a back up PG
