Is it possible for us to get a rut activity report going. For most of us, it's that time of the hunting season. I'd like to get a thread going to discuss what you're seeing activity wise, and location.

So what are ya'll seeing? And where?

Photoperiodism is about to accelerate deer activity at an astonishing rate. A combination of this moon and elongated night hours will lead to an increased release of melatonin from the pineal gland commonly referred to as the "third eye". Due to these longer nights and shorter days, mature bucks are releasing higher levels of melatonin, and this directly forces the pituitary gland to increase testosterone production.... Which means, the bucks are getting anxious...

NW LA.-2 bucks killed within a week were chasing and stinking.
2 does killed in same period were not ready. 2 weeks and they'll be in full rut.

November 17, 18 and 19th have typically been the best 3 days of hunting for us near Greenwood over the past 10 yrs. The deer were moving like crazy today according to the guys I hunt with, one 7 pt killed and another good buck missed. I decided to sleep in like a dumbass.

First week in December is when it gets the best on our property. You see a doe then get the gun out because a buck is two steps behind her.

Early/Mid Dec here in Central Alabama. The bucks are just now going off alone.

Area 2 near Lena. I think that we are in full rut. Deer that have been killed have swollen necks and stink. Plenty of scrapes and rubs. I actually haven't seen a deer since the start of the season and I have stopped getting pictures of deer. Lots of hogs though.

NWLA. I didn't get to go but got a lot of report from our land. 3 shooter bucks witnessed along with several other smaller bucks. One missed, two couldn't get shots.

They said some of the bucks were starting to follow a little, but not quite in full rut. Thanksgiving week it will be on.

Still getting photos of bucks together in Winn Parish. Looks like we are a couple of weeks away from the rut.

I hunt in NW MS. We are getting pre-rut sign, but not really much chasing going on other than young deer. Still a couple weeks away IMHO, and it won't be "great" until the first or 2nd week of December...
