and recruiting high character individuals. This may end up being his best quality. Well as long as we can stay clean through the upcoming crap storm that is rolling into the SEC.

Les didn't allow the kid to play, made him transfer and fired the coach. Not to mention we self-reported.

Did the NCAA close or even ever open up an investigation into Akiem Hicks and former coach DJ McCarthy's actions? I know LSU never played him and forced McCarthy out after their own internal investigation and maybe that was enough, but I can't remember if the NCAA ever decided to look further into it.

Bottom line - LSU turned itself in and policed themselves, you sit player until your absolutely sure and you discipline coach involved, pulling him off recruiting trail and terminating.

Just goes to show how much integrity Coach Miles has as an adminstrator of his program. He looks at it as, he has the responsibility, he is going to do what he has to do to make sure his program is clean as it can be. He does this even though it will cost him a win or two or even a title as seen with the decision with RP 3 years ago and then when it came to this.

I give him all the credit because it is his responsibility to make sure LSU is trouble free. I blame Pete Carroll completely for USC's problems not being handled the way they should have been. If he would have been more involoved with the Coaches and players and all contact from without the program all that crap with Bush would have never gone as far as it went and more than likely USC would still be in a lot better shape than they are now. All he was doing was looking out for his own good and not the good of the School or the Program.

This is also why I think there is more to this Cam Newton story than meets the eye. At USC would they have won the BCS NC if Bush did not play that year? I think not. Would he have won the Heisman Trophy? I think not. The same goes for Auburn, I wonder if Chizik is doing what is best for the School or Program? We do not know right now but, as we have seen we will find out sooner or later, and if the FBI is involved it may be sooner than later. JMHO!
