This is the problem with our offense. I thought he made some good runs this weekend, but there is no way LSU QB should have more rushing attempts than our primary running backs. He had 16 attempts. the rest of the team had 18. Then Lee plays 19 plays and we pass on 14 of them. I am sure it is hard to devise a defense against us.

Ridley -- 12 rushes
Murphy -- 2 rushes
Ford -- 2 rushes
Ware -- 1 rush
Shepard -- 1 rush

Jefferson -- 14 rushes for 89 yards
(plus 2 sacks for losses of 6 & 9 yards)

Ridley should have gotten a lot more carries yesterday

How many of those were actually called passes that broke down requiring JJ to run? I seem to remember more than a few of these.

And what good did it do us? 243 yards total offense against a subpar SEC defense.

Ordinarily I would agree but JEfferson running the ball had more success than any other offensive play in the game. Auburn was letting LSU have that and I believe that Crowton did well in realizing this. No Jefferson running, no points IMO.

And the problem was that everytime he was in the game, Auburn knew he was going to run, because Crowton's substitutions make it obvious what he is going to do.

If you play Murphy on passing plays and then put in Ridley for running plays, you're not going to fool anybody.

Because it was a minor price to pay in exchange for continue to do what they were doing. LSU moved the ball in the first half, but after JJ's INT and JL's wrist injury, they completely shut LSU's offense down.

actually our best 3 drives were all in the first half and his running played a big part of it. I felt like in the 2nd half, when Fairley was taking over the middle we should have ran him and rolled him a bit more.

Newton had more yards than Fannin.

Stopping The designed JJ runs and plain Lee was Crowtons mistake

Yep. Because of AU's running game, LSU only got 4 drives in the 1st have, but still managed to move the ball for 184 yards.

Once AU figured out that LSU couldn't pass and had nothing to threaten them with other than JJ running the ball, LSU was shut down cold. 7 drives for only 59 yards. (EDIT: including a 39-yard trick TD pass from Ware)

The 1st half actally went pretty well minus JJ's interception.

Start the game by forcing Auburn 3 and out. Charge down the field with a long, time-consuming drive. Then we decide to throw the ball.

We should've run the ball more, and whoever mentioned the RB substitutions was dead on. It would've been a closer game if we had tried to run the ball more. Also, it seemed like we didn't run it as much with Lee in the game. As in, we never ran it with Lee in the game
