Could JJ be good at any other position - given his abilities?

He is 6'5" and around 225 lbs - can he add another 15 or so pounds and become a TE or if he should lose some and try and become a WR?

Unless if he has an amazing senior year and blows away camps - chances are less that he might be drafted.

This is not for LSU - but for his own future.

Other QBs have tried it out

I remember that Matt Jones had a great camp and NFL scouts loved him.
Antwaan - WR
Matt Jones - WR

Bashing aside - has he played or capable of playing any other position/ or is there any position that is an easier transition from being a QB?

He could definitely be holder for the place kicker and then run the read FG option with Jasper.

Keep in mind we only have JJ and JL, so he needs to stay back up. He's played like shite this year, but he is capable of doing better as was seen during a few games in his past.

With 6'-5", 250 lb bullet arm Mettenberger almost certainly wearing an LSU uniform next season both Lee and JJ have need to fear job security.

If J. Lee continues to perform, he and "Metteneaux" will be fighting for the QB job in 2011. If JJ has decent hands he'd certainly be another fast, big receiver or back to whom J. Lee or Metz can chuck footballs. Hopefully LSU will be able to RS 6'-6", 200 Stephen Rivers to follow behind in 2012. Hopefully LSU QB woes will soon be over.

He's a qb, just playing like shite. I can't see him playing or learning any other position! A little late in the game.

Auburn has a receiver that used to play QB...Burns.....he either starts or plays a good bit and is decent...i know right now we dont have the depth...but what if we snag Mett and he is the real deal....what about giving Jeff a RS year and allow him to learn a new position that might could benefit both him and the team.

IMO, and thats all it is is an opinion, JJ would not be able to succeed at any other position. He is slightly above average speed for a QB but if you put him at WR or HB he would be slightly below speed. He has never shown a real ability to be able to catch the ball, but maybe he can.

So NO.

Just becasue he is big and black does not mean he has any abilities.

he actually has no abilities. He cant read a defense so I doubt he would be able to find a way to get open.

good question. He wouldn't make an arena football league team at the rate he is playing right now.
