to give some depth behind Ryan Baker? I'm assuming that Barrow ends up behind Minter at MLB.

We have good depth next year at safety behind starters Brandon Taylor and Craig Loston with young guys like Eric Reid, Ronnie Vinson, Sam Gibson and Tharold Simon. Depth at WLB looks a little shakier.

Thoughts?

Hatcher's skill set seems better suited to WLB at the college level IMO.

I like the move. I think Hatcher would thrive in Chavis's scheme at WLB.

Plus we simply have more and better depth at safety than we do at LB.

Seems like one of our safeties will need to. We don't have much depth at LB and only have one commitment. Someone between him, Reid, Loston, or Vinson will probably make the move. I think Loston would make a great LB.

I do too. But I'd rather see Loston start at FS than backup Ryan Baker at WLB.

Both our starters are returning next year and he'll have to compete with Vinson and Reid for backup roles at safety. I think the best way to get him on the field early would be at LB.

Hatcher might have been a better fit over Francois - I never here Francois' name called for a tackle

My thoughts exactly.

Doesn't Hatcher play a good bit more than Loston right now? Why would he be sitting behind him next year? As of now, Hatcher appears to be the superior player.

This.

Hatcher has basically locked-up the starting safety spot next to Taylor and has really played well this year. Not saying it's impossible that they move a starter (Coleman was moved his senior year), and we all want Loston on the field so it'll be interesting to see how they go about handling all these safeties.

Also, to those who mentioned Munchie; I agree 1000%! I'm ecstatic about this kid and think he'll be perfect in this system.

Karnell Hatcher is a good hitman. He's like Harry Coleman. They both could lay the wood to an opposing player. Hatcher would be a great LBer in my opinion.

Hatcher is the QB of the D-backs, took over from Taylor. Don't see Chavis moving him. At Safety, he sees the field and makes the calls. He'd be good at LB, but don't see that happening. Look for someone else.
