How about some kind of show of support? He's a good kid, works hard even though he doesn't seem to be getting it. I kinda sense a wedge being driven between him and the fans, with people bashing his self defense statements. It kinda breaks my heart. A big cheer or a "Jordan Jefferson clap clap clap clap clap..." may actually help the kid play with more confidence. Let's reconcile with our quarterback.
(for the record I would rather see Lee take the field, but we ain't changing any coaches minds out there, let's get behind all 11 guys on the field.)

won't care, will be deer hunting, and thanks to the fact that I know he is starting, if there was any doubt and Lee had a chance I would stay home and watch the game, but knowing that JJ is starting I will not waste a Saturday afternoon watching another 17-10 ball game, and I am not confident in predicting who will have 17 and who will have 10

I am all for cheering for the players as they represent the University I love... but if we have to create personalized cheers in hopes a starter plays better then he doesn't need to be starting. He should have enough confidence in himself and those around him that he doesn't need the fans.

I think most people will be apathetic until he makes a big play or screws up

frick that. I won't boo, and I'll cheer for the good plays, but I'm not cheering for poor play just because he "has the want" to be better.

Everyone is concerned about everyone's feelings because they're kids out there. No they're not. You think the drill instructor in Fort Benning or Lackland cares about the feelings of kids the same age that they're getting ready to go to war? No they don't, because they know they are men. I'm sick and tired of this country rewarding average performance. Reward excellence, and expect no less.

I would agree with this if I were sending JJ into the field of battle. But we're not. And my whole point was so that he would play better, maybe.

how about we get someone to hold your hand and jefferson since you are both so sensitive. i mean he is only a junior. i volunteer to take him to gatti land after the game win or lose. this is big time football so perform or take criticism

I know, and I respect that. I just have a really hard time with someone who responds to his own performance like this.

Had he taken some responsibility and acted like a real leader, I might have a little more compassion for him.

there 18-22 year olds who work there arse off in the classroom, weightroom, film room, and obviously on the field. Some may work harder than others but they all are probably pushed harder than 90% of student athletes around the country. And we forget that mostly their doing this all for us, we shouldn't ever boo kids no matter how you feel about them, that shite is just wrong. I was borderline embarrassed the other night when JJ came back on the field and I had to explain to WV fans what the hell we were doing, and why fans would ever boo their own players. To be honest I didn't really have an explanation

He is taking criticism, I just don't think he should take it while trying to focus for the upcoming play, doesn't seem like it would help his play. For the record, if I were the coach he would be signaling the plays in to Lee. But I'm not the coach. The real coach is sending JJ onto the field Saturday whether slapdicks like you hiss and boo or not.

outside of MMA, football is the closest you get to war in polite society. Daryl Stingley would certainly agree

I'm around the same age as all these college players so I boo the shite out of them.
