Where is everyone getting their feed? How much are you paying?

Protein pellets for nursing cows

Local feed and seed store

$7.50/50# bag

Deer love it
Hogs do not
Coons do not
Bears do not

This makes for a perfect combination for my needs

not sure on their prices this year, but Gamberi Feed in Natchez usually has it for a pretty decent price. You may also wanna check whatever grain elevators are in your area, they're usually more than happy to sell to someone

That is a great idea that I would have never thought about.

Unless your place has nursing cows on it like mine does, then they will tear up just about anything to get to it....

Right now I'm buying rice bran at the local grocery store. 50lb bag for $7.99.

I'm going to get some bulk corn in a few weeks from a farm in New Roads. 2000lbs - $165.

I speak the truth! It is basically the same as the protein pellets made for deer(Antlermax,rackmaster,....ect.) except it has 16% protein where the others range from 20%-22%.

I must advise you to add corn to it until the deer start eating it. If I start feeding a new place I usually use 1 part corn to 2 parts protein pellets the first 2 times I put feed out and then go straight protein after that. Adding the corn seems to get them eating it faster.IMO

What about Soybeans? They are wanting $20 a sack at the Feed Store.May have to try the pellets because corn gets eaten by everything but deer.

Beans are bringing good money this year due to flooding in the midwest earlier this year. I have friends that are cutting bumper crops of beans right now and could not be happier. I thought about buying some straight from the field and it was too expensive for my taste.

Like I said before, mix some corn with the protein pellets until your deer get used to the pellets and you will be fine.
