Heading into the season opener, I remember Shepard saying he could get as many as 5-10 touches in the Wildcat formation against UNC. Through three games, I can't recall this scenario unfolding. It's one wrinkle I was hoping to see this season. Oh well, it's hard to complain too much when your team is undefeated and just outside the top 10!

Based on skill sets, I'd actually think our best bet would be to put Shep in the motion role, like he does now with JJ and the zone read, and have Spencer Ware be the Wildcat QB. Since Ware was a QB like Shep in HS, he's comfortable taking the snap and moving with the ball, and Shep has the speed to get the corner.

I remember they tried Murphy in the Wildcat formation and it didn't work well. I'd like to see us and at least attempt it with either Shepard or Ware.
