I was at the game on Saturday and that had to be the worst LSU crowd I've ever been part of (at least since the 90's). I was in section U toward the top. Brooks tried constantly to get the crowd pumped and everybody sat on their a$$es.

If it weren't for the students down by the band, we would've been indistinguishable from the Vandy fans by our lack of noise.

BTW, one of my favorite crowd moments was when the Vandy folks shot t-shirts in the LSU section. I don't know what they had on them, but within a couple of minutes, I saw them being thrown onto the field Wrigley Field style.

It wasn't a game that really made you "enthused."

I was pissed that I wasn't going to get my free taco, because there was no way Vandy was going to score 14 points...

but yea, your original point is valid...I guess those fans that never sit down in Tiger Stadium didn't make the trip.

It actually sounded pretty good on TV from an LSU standpoint.

I did get a free Old Spice deodorant on the way out. I was trying to figure out who stank the most.

The students down by the band made up for the rest of us. They held to form.

Their stadium only holds 40,000 so there's only so much room for LSU fans.

I think the care factor is starting to run out with some people. Some people are just not that into it anymore. It's a sad thing and you should hope it never happens to you

Attendance was ~38,000 --- I'd say 25K - 30K were LSU fans.... I was there.

As for the OP --- yes it was lame --- but when our team is carrying VANDY into the 4th quarter with a 10-3 lead --- you just aren't going to get a lot of enthusiasm out of the crowd.

If JJ would have hit RR, then RS, then one of the backs, then the TE, etc and marched us down the field a few times --- people would cheer --- but seeing some rather poor Offensive execution, missed passed, dropped balls that were not well throw, etc. is just hard to get excited about.

this is not meant to be a negative post --- just stating the facts.

The whole crowd looked pretty lackluster on TV. Lots of empty seats.

I was there and the atmosphere sucked but it always does at Vandy. The only time it's completely full is for South Carolina (those frickers travel better than we do) or Tennessee.

Piss Poor Excuse. Our D played lights out and if they were trying to pump up the crowd on a 3rd down to make Vandy punt, the fans should have made some noise.

D was allot of fun. I love punishing opposing team QBs and that D did it in spades Saturday.

LSU fans should be getting louder in close games not the other way around. Must be the folks who post to this board who went to the game.

This. It was a low-scoring defensive struggle up until the 4th quarter.

Les' grind it out on the ground game plan worked, but it's not conducive to getting the crowd excited.

It was because the game suck. It was no reason to get excited. We should of had 35pts by then. Wow a field goal lets go streaking. Bad Timing.

I'm not expecting Tiger Stadium by any stretch. I've been to a Vandy-LSU game in Nashville before. I've been to plenty of road games. This was definitely the worst.

Yes, to a degree we're paying to be entertained. If you're truly a fan though, you need to play your part during the game. At a minimum, when it's 3rd down for our defense, you make some damn noise.

Fans can pump up the team - no doubt about it. On the road, it seems to pump them up even more to hear their rowdy fans that have traveled to see them play.

Guys,

I was there, too, and in Section U, no less. True, it wasn't very loud, at least not by Tiger Stadium standards. But the game was never in doubt. Even when we were in the second quarter and the offense wasn't moving. You could see the defense had the game in hand. In that scenario, it's tough to scream your head off when you don't have a heck of a lot to scream about. So relax just a bit. The fan base isn't asleep; just a little disgusted at the moment. Put 'em in TS against Bama in a tie game in the fourth quarter and see what happens!
