First off I definitely agree that JJ is by no means the future of this team and that something has to change, and that that change can really only come in the form of JLee.

With that said, am I the only one that remembers just how bad Lee was? The pick sixes were only the tip of the iceberg, but those seem to be the only thing mentioned whenever people talk about his downside.

All throughout 08' he froze way worse then JJ whenever he had any sort of pressure and he would just throw the ball into the ground or at the back of a lineman. Now his lack of pocket presence could have just been indicative of a struggling o-line or a young Qb, but who knows. Throughout that whole year he was inconsistent as crap and struggled with his accuracy and with telegraphing passes much worse then JJ ever has.

Now I know that what everyone will say to this is it's been two years, it's time to give him another chance, it can't get any worse, and while I agree remember we did give him another chance last year vs La Tech and he played with literally no improvement.

With all of that said, Our offense is terrible with JJ and it is time to give Lee a chance. I'm just not sure if one "sharp" pass in this game means anything at all and I wouldn't be suprised if with Lee at the helm we made no improvement. Hopefully if Miles nuts up and puts Lee in the offense will improve, but Lee hasn't showed us anything in two years don't know why he would now.

I think most posters on this board are post-pregnant women who have forgotten the pain Lee caused.

Lee consistently overthrew simple passes like Jefferson.

Lee consistently telegraphed his passes and developed "happy feet" during pass plays.

Lee's ability to read a defense was even worse than Jefferson.

But because he can throw a ball hard, people think he's the savior of the offense (nevermind that Jefferson had a couple of sharp highlight-reel throws just last week.)

JJ is playing TERRIBLE at this time. I am willing to put LEE out there to see if he has improved.

If he hasn't... put JJ back in. What do we have to lose at this point?

I get that but he was reallyyyy bad as RS frosh and last year. None of us have seen anything at all to indicate some sort of improvement from Lee if anything we have only seen the opposite but the same can be said for Jefferson. I get that Lee needs to get a chance but don't be suprised if he is as turrible as he's always been

God Bless JJ, but I'm tired of seeing his "confused face" as he sits on the ground after a hit.

He doesn't look angry or sad, he appears to be confused.

What about him?

Was only in his second year of football.

Seems like if he can be a Top 10 recruit in only his 3rd year of playing football, then he can be a decent QB in his 7th year.

This kind of sums it up. Though I had no problems with the JJ against NC. But if we see the same thing next week, we've gotta shake things up. He's got to know that they expect more. Because tonight he didn't take care of the ball as well as usual. The pick wasn't a careless throw, but it was a bad throw and he was asleep when he didn't catch one of the snaps tonight. We can't have that against the better competition.

Exactly. Everyone who argues that Lee should not play gives his downfalls like he did them last week and not two years ago as a 19 year old freshman. Where would all of you be if you were judged for the rest of your professional life based only on what you did your first year on the job?

Did Lee not have time to make passes in '08? Or was it nerves? I noticed he didn't once do the "tugging on the shoulder pads" thing once while he was in there. He looked way more relaxed and ready to do business.

I'm seriously asking about the oline in '08. I know Ciron was there, Hitt, was Helms the center? Dickson was a primarily receiving tight end.... oh, Favorite was there. I dunno. Just was trying to remember who was on the o line that year.

I could of made the pass JL did tonight. But in saying that I did not like Jeffersons performance at all tonight. But that was tonight. His worst game ever. I will take that performance over Lee's pick 6's he threw 2 years ago. You can have the best defense in the world but they can't defend when the offense is on the field. That was 2 years ago so I look at the LA TECH "WAC conference" game and he was terrible there. He may be what we need now if Jefferson doesn't prove hisself this week in practice.

Ok man.... you need to decide. You completely contradicted yourself with the last two sentences. Pick one.

I was just trying to say that I'm not a Jefferson only QB. I can remember how terrible LEE was untill one pass tonight and unless he just shows Jefferson up in practice then he shouldn't get to play. The Best player should always play in my opinion.

Man i've been on JJ side for a long time not because i like him more then jlee , but because Les starts him and puts him out there so i'am gonna hope that he has a good game!

But you can't blame J.Lee for the shite he did 2 years ago and we need a spark on the offense right now and it maybe that they need to play both of them the hold game!

A few things to think about with the Lee of 2 years ago:

-The play calling screwed him. We had receivers streaking down the field with no safety valve for him to dump it off to.
-He was a RS Freshman
-We had one of our worst defenses in recent memory in '08

Lee is now older and he has shown that he is dedicated to LSU and wants to be here when many would have left. Our defense looks really good so that would certainly take some pressure off of him. Jefferson is really struggling so what would it hurt to give Lee a shot at redeeming himself?
