"We've just got to finish games. It killed us last year, and it almost got us against UNC. I don't know what it is, but something has got to change."
Sounds like PP is about to step up and take over as the leader.

When I watched Peterson the other night at the Dome, I could not help bu think of the similarity between him and one of my all time favorites, Tommy Casanova.
Patrick, if you are reading this or will read it, this is a real compliment. You step up and move us toward the strong finish we need.

The "HAT" has to develop a mean personality so the players fear him as former players feared and respected Saban.

Saban chewed the DB's arse out before he left for the Miami Dolphins. DB said he will always remember that arse chewing as it made him a better DB.

Sounds like the half desperate, clinging hopes we have had for the past 2 years grasping for any sign of evidence that the corner is about to turn.

If only he could step up to DC.

Can he play qb? How bout a few wildcat snaps?

If we get better play from the QB position EVERYTHING changes for this team. The QB position is the pulse of our scoreboard.

our offensive line played worse than our QB, and a QB can't do anything without an OL

Amen, brother. If JJ could just find it in himself to calm down in the pocket and read through his progressions I think the O-line will be able to give him a few more seconds back there than they did last year.
I really think the horrible O-line play last year stunted JJ's growth as a big time QB.
ETA: I'm worried he'll NEVER realize his potential because of last year.

In the UNC game? JJ has ALL DAY to throw. Now the run blocking left a little to be desired. And Blackwell was gone after the first play. I think JJ played pretty well...but the OL wasnt the problem.
The playcalling is THE BIG problem. RS only getting 7 touches was a BIG problem. Hell...he had 2 TDs with only 7 touches.

To be fair it was pretty obvious that there were a few times when the ball was supposed to go to RS but it never got there.
Just remember that for every time RS got the ball there was probably another play called that was supposed to get him the ball.
If you're talking about giving him more touches in the wildcat then I can agree, but I'd say maybe 2 or 3 more.

It seems as though every time we get a lead, we go into conservative mode (ex. run up the middle). If we are scoring easily with the play calling of the first half, you would think you would continue using the same plays.

Well...if Ridley and Murphy are gonna keep putting the ball on the turf...Id say he needs about 8 or 9 more..
And please tell me you dont think playcalling is good. We have no identity or consistency whatsoever. Its a complete hodgepodge of scatterbrained nonsense. Something works well...we dont see it again.
