I know alot of people were claiming him to be near the same level. I don't know where all the hype came from, but I like Mathieu better.

Mathieu looks like a freaking STUD

Mathieu got burned on one of the long passes.
Looked good on the sack though. But thats simple. Run straight to the QB and hit him.

When? And I think he looked great. Mo might be the third CB come next week

Claiborne was not the problem last night at all.
Taylor got burned all night, Claiborne was being thrown at because Peterson is the other cb.
But Taylor was bitting on the run all night and NC saw it and used it to burn us a number of times.
Rotation at the other cb would help Claiborne, also Jai needs to play more as much as I hate to say it.
The rsfr and fr are the key to this years play in the secondary, depth will be a factor all year.

Chavis scheme caused the offense to march up and down at will. Cannot play 10 yards of the WR and expect to defend the quick slants.

mathieu never got burned..he just had to chase the wr down because someone else had gotten arse raped...i wanna say it was taylor but im not positive

Dude. There are like maybe 8 college CB's of ALL-TIME that are close to Peterson.
Sanders, Woodson, Bailey...

Let's get something straight...I love lsu, believe in lsu and love miles. He is a winner at 52-15. BUT, I totally agree with this. I don't normally try and be negative. But, claiborne was NOT GOOD at ALL. I am hoping it was just nerves, jitters, etc...but he was horrendous. I expect mathieu to take over that position. Don't understand all the hype.
It's funny, well not really, but as sloppy as we sleep-walked through the second half....ridley and claiborne made the biggest impacts. If ridley doesn't fumble when we have first and goal....the big rout is on and it's 37-10 and game over. One play allows another team to stay around and become a game...we wouldn't be having all this negative bs from idiots had ridley not fumbled. Not to mention the second fumble. What the hell happened to murphy..? 2 carries? I thought he was lighting it up in practice. But, yes, Claiborne was garbage.

Claiborne and Taylor were both very poor last night. They both were smoked numerous times.

57 offensive plays. call it whatever you want, giving it up, blah, blah, blah. we ran 57 offensive plays.
That shite was ALL on the offense. Pat Peterson was the game. Ridley should have been benched after the first fumble. One of our other coaches used to do that.
You fumble the ball you sit.
