Really would have been the best choice. That guy idolized Belushi. Too bad.

I would've asked the same thing about Andy Kaufman. It's not gonna be a movie to make a huge box office gross. It'll be a performance vehicle for someone hoping to garner some awards attention like Carrey did in Man on the Moon (Golden Globe win, SAG nom).

If he can keep from laughing the entire time.

Kidding. Clearly, the only choice is:

Johnny Depp

Michael Chiklis played him in this awful biopic.

His life really wasn't that interesting, nor is a film about a successful guy who descends into excessive drug use an original or exciting premise.

Lacour,
Obviously you were not a child of the 80's. If you were, you wouldnt be talking such craziness! The greatest SNL commercial, in my mind, was his "Little Chocolate Donuts". Blues Brothers too! That guy in my opinion was the greatest SNL cast member ever. With Will Farrell, Bill Murray coming in at a close second! Jimmy Fallon would be in that running also.
Kidding
Zach Galifianakis would be a great choice.
