All right. So two weeks ago I pick up a Marlin .17 HMR with a Bull Barrell at a pawnshop with a 2x7 Nikon Prostaff Scope on it. Supposedly it was already sited in. So I go to my camp this past weekend to try it out. I took a shot at Black Bird at the top of a huge Water Oak from about 150 yards and basically blew its head clean off. It was unreal. I am very impressed with the gun and cant wait to shoot it some more. Little loud though

Definitely loud but on feathered targets it is quite hysterical. My friend and I spent some time exploding killdee in a cow pasture

I wish we had prairie dog down here or something similar to shoot at. I would think it would zap a nutria or rabbit pretty damn good.

...and you wonder why "hunters" get a bad rap.

Not too small for yotes, just have to watch your shot placement.

one of my favorite things in the world to shoot. its really fun.

you can shoot coyotes with it, just aim for the head. 17's are deadly accurate so it shouldnt be a problem

What kind do you have, I know there is a bunch out there. Head shots on coyotes? I thought all they had for 17s were ballistic tips?

and? ive never killed a coyote with one but i saw what it did to a nutrias head and im 100% sure that if you hit a coyote in the head, its not going to do much moving

ive got a marlin with the bull barrel. its a bolt action with a small clip. i think it holds 5 or 6 bullets
