I have never, ever had an issue with buying a game I want on release date at wal mart, best buy or any other store?

I don't get it.

anxiety about not getting the game on release day, I'd guess.

It's rare for a game to sell out, but on occasion, it happens.

Gamestop tries to coerce people to preorder by offering extra stuff. It's usually worthless cosmetic bullshite like an additional set of armor or a new gun that is inferior to those offered in the retail version.

Yeah, I'll often use gamestop to trade in games. I know you get pretty much nothing back in most instances, but a lot of titles have zero replayability so I have no problem taking a loss on something that I will never touch again.

Crackdown 2 was one of my more recent idiotic purchases, I'm about to bring that back and hope I can see a decent return on it.

Gamestop gives different incentives for pre ordering, different stuff for different games, i am never worried about them not having the game, but for like MOH if u pre order you get the beta key to play the online demo....

I usually wind up paying the $5 to hold the game, but then not picking it up until after a few days after its release.

There are plenty of games that are difficult to find when they come out.

I pre-ordered Starcraft 2 to get a beta key. That was the first time I've pre-ordered a game since the original Stracraft.

I haven't gone to pick up Starcraft 2 yet, though.

maybe 10 years ago or in a small town. Best Buy and Wal Mart have eliminated this problem.
