Ely is suppose to announcr today. Hope Miles assurance that Lee will play football and not pro baseball does not cost us here. Hope Lee comes to LSU but we cant afford not to have one of these guys. Just cant see Lee coming even if he has convinced Miles. Although our recruiting class is shaping up pretty well we presently have no QB committed. The most highly regarded QBs except Ely are committed to others.

My thinking on the LEE situation is if he was going baseball he would be playing now and not at LSU taking classes. Robert Lane did the same thing coming out of HS he did not play baseball that last summer and prepared for the football season.

#112 in total offense will likely cost us here. Our QB depth can't be more attractive with or without Lee. The problem is LSU cannot tell these kids that they will be part of a dynamic offense. Don't think other schools aren't sharing that message as well.

The only place I saw it reported was here.

Another blogger posted it would be on or around the 10th before he announced.

I do believe that our present staff is much improved over last year.

most likely at his high school:

Weiner said Ely and Posada will likely make their announcements together at a news conference at the school. Depending on how quickly Wilder makes up his mind, he could also make his decision there or later in his own news conference.

please tell me why STANFORD'S 107 ranking in total offense in 2007 allowed them to sign ANDREW LUCK?

Actually, if our coaches know how to spin a situation, this can work in our favor. In 2007, we did have a prolific offense under Crowton. In 2008 and 2009, not so much. Convince the kid that he is the man that can bring back the magic.

Probably because a Stanford degree wouldn't be a bad option to fall back on. Harbaugh was a QB coach in the NFL and just getting started at Stanford, nice depth for Luck, and Palo Alto is pretty nice.

The difference is that Miles has been at LSU for 5 years and the perception, right or wrong, is that LSU is currently underperforming. I hope we change that this year, but that is what we're up against.

ok, then how about Notre dame ranking 119 in total offense and signing dayne christ in their recruiting class? And, they signed jimmy clausen the previous year.

Seems like something else happens 2nd week of August? Oh yeah, Lee's decision date on the 16th. I'm sure that's just a coincidence.

1. It's Notre Dame
2. Coach Jabba the Hut's reputation as an offensive genius.
3. Notre Dame degree

I don't know what's on these kids minds, I am just saying that LSU has challenges to oversome for offensive recruiting, particularly a qb. It's up to Miles and Crowton to overcome those.
