Just read a story about him not being signed as of yet and they say they are worried he may not. Here is the link. Thought you all would like to know.

I thought he was a lock to sign? Well I guess holding out till middle of august increases your leverage somewhat.

I think it's just like the NFL draft where very few big names have signed yet. I think they will sign it will just be much later for everyone. I don't expect him at LSU at all.

I can't imagine a world where this scenario plays out.

Agreed........though the problem becomes if too many don't sign, is that you will have to have massive attrition to fit everyone.

Agreed. I'd feel bad for the kids that don't make a roster spot if we sign many of our top guys that are on the fence, but honestly, I'd rather have the top guys signed at their expense for the good of the program.

The Astros are in disarray as far as talent on the farm goes....they need to sign talent like this.

If he is a Tiger, I would be SHOCKED!!!!

If he doesn't get signed by Houston it is the final death blow to Drayton and lil' Ed

the Astros really need young talent, the reason they are looking at trading Os is for prospects

Yes it is a long shot, but, you do not tell young great talent like this to go somewhere else. I say get him here once that happens is here for three years he is a lock then, but if we do not take him someone else will and I do not want Texas getting him, I want him here.

I think there's actually a chance Delino DeShields will be a Tiger. How much of a chance remains to be seen. At the risk of being Captain Obvious, I think the longer he remains unsigned, the more our chances increase.

Come on, DeShields: LSU, or a prospect of being a future star with the Houston Astros?

The choice is yours, plain and simple

Hope he makes the right one...

no way he ever steps foot in campus. Delino Sr. has carefully crafted every step of the draft process for his son, including signing w/ LSU to increase his leverage/backup plan. From what I've heard DDJr has never been to Baton Rouge and picked us bc of the name.

I pray to god I'm wrong tho, our OF would be SICK!!!
