I talked to one of jarvis' former coaches at the gym today and he said lsu recruited jarvis as a db and said that's what he wants to play at lsu.. can anyone verify this? not sure if this has been discussed yet

I saw this posted in the O. prospects thread a moment ago. Anyone know if there's any truth to this? First I have heard of him switching to defense.

ETA: Is there another Jarvis that this guy is thinking of?

He's a physical guy.. one of the toughest receivers in the nation.. I wouldn't mind one bit honestly

Agreed. Watching his highlights, he definitely plays VERY physical for a WR. Also, his size, speed, and quickness would probably translate well to DB as well.

no way possible.

we already have loston, reid, simon etc. at safety. landry would be excessive duplication.

he's a top 5 receiver.

His WR film is ridiculous. Keep him there, where he belongs.

well the first thing with this guy is to make sure you get his signature, because from now until February programs all across America covet him and will not let up

but he's a playmaker wherever he goes, an athlete that you want to get the ball into his hands

I don't think that LSU recruited him to play there, but he probably told Miles that he was willing to play either WR/DB. Like said on here already, I would never want to move him from receiver

Dumbest thing I've ever heard. He is being recruited purely as a WR.

Hes too good of a WR to put on D considering LSU doesn't have these type of WRs on the roster. He is a true slot guy.

I call BS on this quote! I think LSU has a bunch of great receivers! Now, if somebody can get them the ball, well, that's another story.

Outside of Shepard who do we have in the slot? We can convert a RB but that's about it. Landry is a WR all the way IMO.

Why cant we just recruit the number 2 reciever in the nation and let him play reciever? Why do we have to get all cute

I'm not against turning WRs into DBs. However, in this case I am. Landry is too skilled as a receiver.

Don't everyone get all worked up. This post is completely fiction and the idea of it would make the LSU staff burst out in uncontrollable laughter.

I officiated several Lutcher games over the past years where Landry has played defense.
Last year against St. Louis, Landry lined up at Middle Linebacker in goal line situations.

He is just one heck of a fotball player.
Defense would not be out of the question.
