but if you look at the reality of the situation. chris paul said he wanted to stay in new orleans if they were serious about winning now and made the moves that they need too. they didn't and obviously were just making moves to dump salary (period)

he has two more years on contract and there is no way he will be happy and even think about resigning knowing that we are not doing the things necessary to win a championship. so if you want to have a chance at getting anything for him you have to trade him now. if he is unhappy he can make a trade happen (period)

this whole oil spill thing is killing chouest financially and the deal may be falling through. or at least putting a hold on him banking a championship team at this time. but may be looking a few years down the line.

we can trade him in the last year or his deal, not now, and get the same value

the best decision is to play it out with him.

I pray they don't rush things. We don't need to trade him anytime soon.

A few years down the line? When the team is no longer in NOLA?

Who says the Hornets aren't trying to build a winner? Getting rid of Morris Peterson and his contract is a good start

Doing pretty good. What about you?

I thought we did fine but I don't know as much about the cap situation as some others do.

Me too, man. I'd hate to see a solid draft be completely overshadowed by this shite.

Yeah praying this isn't true. They'll lose a ton of fans if they deal him and don't get a lot better.

Well i mean, if we keep him (which i believe we do) our starting 5 is definitely improved.

They'll be competitive if they can stay healthy.

NO can't move CP unless..

A. Overpaid in fair trade..none proposed thus far are even remotely close in that regard..neither in talent nor picks.

B. Get a marquee talent that has draw/tix attraction, to replace CP's allure to Nawlins/La fanbase..nearly impossible to do.

C. Team is sold to Chouest or other, and have an ownership that either isn't worried about his draw, and/or feels needs moving for some trade value before losing him to free agency later on in next two years..(Re: similar to the form of overpayment that the Twins or Mets or Yanks or other teams will need give Mariners to rent Cliff Lee in the coming weeks before he hits the open market at season's end..in which is the only thing to keep his trade price somewhat sane at all).

Calm down everyone, CP3 would've already been traded if he was going anywhere.

We've just scraped the top of the offseason barrel. Long off season ahead of us.

Even Jeff Bower wouldn't be stupid enough to take the trade Orlando is suggesting, considering he turned down the #3 pick which is better than Vince Carter at this stage in his career

i believe at this point Shinn is the only one stopping this deal.

I'm sure Grizzlies fans were saying the same thing before they gave the Lakers 2 championship rings...I mean Pau Gasol.
