Brandts Maisonette or Maison Lacour

trying to decide which to go to, have never been to either. Suggestions ?

Never had Brandts, but Maison is my favorite restaurant in BR.

Been to both several times. Brandt's is better across the board, in my opinion.

I'm inclined to believe that when y'all are saying Maison Lacour w/o a doubt that you have obviously not been to Brandt's. As good as Maison Lacour is, I can't justify saying they are better than Brandt's, and it definitely isn't "hands down" better. To each their own obviously, but making comments like "definitely" and "hands down" is a little over the top.

I really like the food, ambience and people @ Brandt's. We haven't been back to Maison Lacour in a few years so we need to try it again. I'm in need of a Brandt's fix...we only go around twice a year eventhough it's 2 blocks from our house. I say try both!:)

I suppose I should clarify: I personally would choose Maison Lacour. I just prefer it overall to Brandt's. That is not saying Brandt's is a bad choice, but if someone told me they had to choose between the two for a one time thing, I would advise Maison Lacour without hesitation. If you have the opportunity to experience both and decide for yourself, I doubt you would be disappointed by either.
