I don't care if he hit a home run in that at bat. Anyone who has ever played baseball knows you bunt in that situation. If Gaudet can not do it put someone in who can. Anyone, Gaudet is your DH it will not hurt you in the field.

Yeah. We should bunt Gaudet. He had 2 attempted bunts yesterday. How did that turn out.

We pitched well enough today to win. Irvine got 4 runs on 6 hits because they were able to move runners over with the bunt.
If we bunt in the 8th we would have had 2nd and 3rd with one out. Nola flies out next which would have scored the run.
So not only should we have bunted in the 9th but we should have in the 8th.

Who would you sub to bunt? It is not like we have a lot of great bunters. If he fails to get the bunt down then you have wasted a player in addition to gaudet.

Dishon or Katz. I would say Dishon. At least that way if they do get the lead runner you have Dishon on first with one out instead of 2 outs and no one on. Gaudet is the DH he would not hurt you in the field in the bottom of the inning if he is taken out.

Runners on first and second NO outs.Gibbs at the plate who handles the bat well. YOU FREAKING BUNT. A wild pitch,passed ball or a pop up and you tie the game.There is NO major league manager who would not bunt in that situation. Lead off runner on,top of the ninth. You pinch hit for Gaudet and BUNT! Baseball 101. Move the runner and stay out of the double play.Granted, we did not have the pitching to make a run this year.But Mainieri dropped the ball this weekend.
