This team has done absolutely nothing to prompt UCI or UCLA to dig into their bullpens. They both can sandbag their better pitchers. The losers bracket is almost non-existent except for the one game tomorrow.

I mean these guys don't even need to have a pitcher throw hard during a warm-up.

As I speak, UCI just cranked a lead-off double to the wall off some kid who the coach just wants to make happy and let him pitch in a regional. Maybe UCI's feet will get a little tired marching back and forth to the plate.

They bit the Gerrit Cole bullet for us.

Didn't they pull him after 5 innings after facing minimal batters?

I'm assuming UCLA pitched their #2 guy last night, and saved #1 for us?

You'd be wrong. But their #2 is more like a 1B.

BTW, the score of the KSU-UCI game is 15-1 and they've only played 5 2/3.

Apples to Oranges but I want this to be logical.

UCI is beating Kent much worse than UCLA beat Kent, therefore the fact that we barely clipped UCI leads me to believe that, we should be able to handle UCLA.

Who is with me?

He's too busy covering Antonio Gates.

Kent State hasn't been killed this bad since 1970.

Kent State also might be lulling these guys to sleep with their awful-ness. They might be caught off guard when they have to face some actual talent.
