Just recieved a call from my neighbor who is a fishing guide in th Lafitte/Myrlte Grove area. All fishing is now closed! Areas around Bay Adams out of Empire are still open.

Wouldn't surprise me a bit if the state doesn't jack up license fees to make up for lost revenue.

BP should reimburse the state for lost tax revenue. It was brought up in congress about lost tax revenue and tarnishing the louisiana brand name.

The state needs to calculate the revenue for the past 3 years to an average, then look at the revenue for this year.

If the revenuse this year is less than the 3 year average, then you send a bill to BP for the difference.

This is the type of "verifiable" economic loss that BP should be paying for.

Saw Grand Bayou on that first map, and many a memory of catching reds and specs off GB came rushing back. Pretty sad to think about all of that area now. Hurts.
