If i were Paul I would tell me baseball team frick IT. Who gives a damn if we win lets just go out there and have fun. I would do some crazy out of the ordinary stuff just to get them to relax and have fun.
I'd do the, Give the ball to the first basemen as the pitcher pretends to get ready to pitch then when the runner gets his lead, the first basemen tags him out. Things of that nature.

Seriously, what the hell do we have to lose????

Just like how Les Miles did the fake field goal against South Carolina and Flynn flipped the ball over his head to Colt David for the TD, THAT WAS FUN!!!
There was no way in hell South Carolina was going to come back and win that game after that play. Our players were having fun and were taking the game seriously at the same time.

What other tricks/out of the ordianry stuff/ anything you think would get this teams mind off losing and just having fun?

It was fun because it worked. Had it backfired, I'm sure you wouldn't describe it as fun.

That play doesnt even fool anyone in little league. There are no trick plays in baseball, because you dont run plays. I understand what you mean--this team is too uptight and mentally not prepared.

Maybe he should hire a couple working girls to come in before the game and help the boys relax.

Dwayne Bowe can hook them up at the regional.

That's cute an all but there's nothing fun about losing continuously.

I get your point. However, those gimicks smack of desperation. On a slightly toned down level, using some aggressive base running could fill the same void. Double steal, hit/run, squeeze in a run, etc.

I actually think having Joey start tonight is going to shake things up a little. We've given up 4+ runs in the 1st 3 innings on Friday (1st game), some weeks up to 8, and I don't think that will happen tonight.

Keeping the game in reach early should help ignite the offensive 'spirit'.

Tigers win tonight !

UC Irvine against LSU 2 years ago in super regional.
It worked against us.

But this is the problem with the hidden ball trick. Everyone thinks it's bush league and it pisses them off. Remember what happened after that play against us? It pissed us off and then the anteaters never had a chance. (Side Note: The ump not seeing the play but still calling it out also pissed us off and is a chance that happens when you run that trick)

Pretty sure that's a balk, which would move the runner into scoring position

LSU would definitely screw a play like that up. They should just try to beat the other team b/c they are more talented.

Not with the first baseman holding the ball while the pitcher is toeing the rubber. That is now a balk and has been for some time. Runners don't take a lead (or shouldn't) until the pitcher toes the rubber. If the pitcher toes the rubber without the ball, it it balk.

Not trying to be a downer, but I like the attitude presented by 07Tiger. They do need to play loose.
