Watched this movie on HBO the other night. It was a look at the life and work of doctor-assisted suicide advocate Dr. Jack Kevorkian. Al Pacino play Kevorkian. Pretty good movie

I enjoyed it. There is a thread about it if you want more opinions. Just search.

Pacino was great in it. Pulled the accent off well and the overall tone of the character.

This was a very very very good movie. One of the better ones I have seen in a long time.

Pissed me off.

Must have pissed a lot of people off cause there was a poll on CNN and overwhelmingly people were for Doctor assisted suicide.

The poll was like 225k for to 60k against. And yes, CNN is liberal but the polls are usually not skewed that strongly.

Pacino was actually very good. I was dubious since he loves to scream and rant in almost everything he has done in the last 20 years, but he really pulled it off.

It wasn't a matter of whether or not people supported him he broke the law. Not only did he break the law he challenged the court system and got owned. Classic case of hubris.

Yea I really want to check this movie out, looks good.

And I'm not sure and don't have any polls or stats, but I thought like a majority of people who fail at committing suicide regret the decision afterwards and want to live? I don't know, not trying to start some god awful poli-board "debate".

There is a difference between people who are mentally ill trying suicide and people that are in physical torment.

That is comparing apples to a mazda.

Yeah, this is a dangerous movie for the movie board. More of a poli board topic. Hard to discuss this one though without talking about the facts.

Indeed, but do people on the poli-board really just go by facts? ha Just saying these topics usually become quickly overwhelmed with conjecture and people who love to hear themselves talk and seem 'reasonable' and understanding to other people's views only when it's convenient for them or their statements/theories you know?

Facts tend to take on a shade of gray on the poli board. Since any side can find almost any statistic they want out on the intraweb to prove their point.
