first one was pretty slow, but I have enjoyed it after that!

It has potential... I love the music but they need to tone it down and concentrate on character development. The new characters introduced in Ep 2 sucked. Maybe they will get better but right now I loath them.

The show has some quality actors and knowing that The wire took some time to gain strength means I will give the show 5 or so episodes before I make a call.

No. It is well put together and well executed. Saying Treme sucks is like saying Mad Men sucks. Excellent character driven dramas aren't going to entertain everyone, but should be respected by all.

Says who? Treme is easily the most boring show I've ever had the painful expirence of trying to sit through. Characer driven shows should, you know, have interesting characters. Just my two cents.

Great show. Those who say it sucks don't like it bc a show about New Orleans shows people eating red beans & rice and using hot sauce and other things they claim to be cliche

And yet it is getting overwhelmingly good reviews for its characters. It's not your thing, that's fine. But to say it sucks or that it is absolutely bottomline boring, that is just some weak minded and short sided thinking.

I have personally disliked some well produced movies because the subject matter didn't connect with me, I sure didn't go out of my way to say the movies "sucked" or were "boring." But that's just me.

it doesn't suck, but it may end up boring unless you want to jack yourself off with the "culture" of new orleans

i'm hoping they actually develop interesting storylines and make me give a shite about the characters at some point

I watched 30 minutes of the first episode and decided my time would be better spent doing somethign else The characters weren't not the type that interest me.

so far it doesn't suck, nor does it impress me very much. but it's 2 episodes in. FWIW, nobody thought Seinfeld was any good until seasons 2 & 3.
