Anyone else watch?

I think this is one of the best shows on television and this guy seriously knows what he's doing.

Great show. I assume that they all have lawsuits against their previous contractors. I always wondered who pays Holmes. It looks like he doesn't spare any expense when making repairs.

i wondered this too. I guess it's done just like all the other shows, the network pays it.

I would think it would be fairly easy to fix the problems with an unlimited budget

This is the best show on HGTV. I've learned so much from it already. It really is scary to think how all these people were screwed by contractors. There was even one couple who were supposedly big fans of his and they still couldn't find a good one.

This

I watch this show a lot and he criticizes the previous contractors and rightfully so, but I would like to see what he can do on a budget provided by a working family rather than a network.

while i agree with you, you have heard some of the numbers some of these people have paid these contractors and for the work that has been done, it's no where close to what it should have been

I record the new ones and pretty much watch every episode I run across. My wife thinks I have a man crush on him, but I love to see how awful the previous contractors were. The show kicks arse.

I love this show! He got the show when he was working on another TV show as one of the workers. He was complaining to one of the head guys that everything they show on TV is wrong and how he would do it. He was just blowing off steam. The exec liked it so much he asked Holmes to do a show. He kept turning them down until he finally gave in. Everything I read shows Holmes is the same off camera as he is on camera.

The people on the show do have to pay money for Holmes. Found this on the web:

------------
Q: Who pays for the renovations on Holmes on Homes™?

A: Holmes on Homes™ offers discounts depending on the scope of the job, which are passed onto the homeowner. As HOH is a TV show, we have money to cover Mike's time and his crew, and we pass these savings onto the homeowner. Any other costs are paid for by the homeowner.
---------------

I've also read that he gets a lot of the work and supplies at greatly reduced prices through donations. A plumber or specialist will also donate their time for free in exchange for the exposure. A Home Depot-like store may give out supplies at cost.

It's still a great deal for the homeowner.

Yeah, I like this show and watch it from time to time. But, it seems like Holmes doesn't do repairs he does rebuilds. You call him about a leaky faucet, and next thing you know all the sheetrock in your house has been removed.

I think he does great work, but it always turns into such a major project. He does the job right though.

I found it funny how his crew was falling out left and right after just a couple weeks of working down there. Those Canadians can't handle the LA summer.

Watched an episode last night where the homeowners gave a contractor almost 200k to remodel their home. Walls were left with no sheetrock. Crappy support. Patchwork on floors and plumbing.. Unbelievable that 200k later, the house was literally worse than when they started.

This show fricking rocks.

I would love it they did a segment each show where they had a Mike Wallace from 60 minutes type that would go and ambush each of the contractors and get their reactions on camera. The names of those companies should be exposed

Some of the stuff he finds from the previous renovations are just unbelievable
