The good news: They are installing a new one right now (Noon, Wednesday)

The bad news: It's another tarp, just like the old one!

With games scheduled for tomorrow through the weekend, I suppose there wasn't time to do anything else.

The old (new) one didn't have ads plastered all over it. Future plans are for a wall, but as of today they haven't figured out just how to place the ads and still be a functional batters eye.

At the risk of sounding like a moron, I'll ask anyway. What is a batter's eye?

Usually a solid green wall in center field, so the batter can pick up the ball coming out of the pitcher's hand easier.

I don't know but you want that wall back there if you're a hitter. Our backdrop is Tiger Stadium. I imagine it's tough as shite to pick up a 92mph fastball without one.

eta: It's the reason you never see fans sitting in center field at any major league stadium.
