How about the Browns?

And wow....the Lions really have no division titles. That is surprising to me.

Browns actually aren't that bad, they were pretty legit back in the day.

By the way, here is the link I've been using.

Tough to rank them. The Bucs are easily the worst recordwise, but their Super Bowl has to count for something. I'd also eliminate NFL Championships prior to the Super Bowl, primarily out of my ignorance of how they were awarded (I'm assuming by overall record - already counted in win %).

That said:

1a. Bengals
1b. Saints
1c. Buccaneers

1000000000000000000000000000000a. Cardinals
1000000000000000000000000000000b. Falcons
1000000000000000000000000000000c. Lions

If you want to ignore an entire decade (the 50's) then yeah. My vote for the worst ever goes to the Atlanta Falcons.

How can you eliminate the NFL Championships and still have the Cards better than the Saints? 47 more years and 1 more playoff appearance, plus a worse win % and no SB?

I'd bet the Eagles would be among the best in terms of winning % and yet 2 teams on that list have a SB and they don't.

Cleveland Browns - (480-387-13) .553%

Only 5 teams in the history of the NFL have a better winning percentage:

Dallas .580
Miami .579
Chicago .577
Green Bay .558
Minnesota .555

Actually, the Cleveland Browns are one of the most successfull franchises in the history in the NFL. Up until the team moved, the Browns were a competitive franchise. Thats what makes being a Browns fan so hard sometimes. All of the great seasons that ended in heartbreak. Since 1999 the Browns have been a joke. The current Browns are a disgrace to the former Browns teams that were so dominant in the 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's. People thinking that the Browns have always stunk is one of the biggest misconceptions in all of professional sports.

This brings me happiness. 11 Vince Lombardi trophies in the NFC East, 0 in Philly.

The browns of today are only 10 years old

the browns were always solid, moved to Baltimore and won a super bowl. That is the franchise

the Cleveland team now is an expansion team only a decade old that, technically and certainly in record books, have 0 ties to the Paul brown and Jim brown franchise

That would be like saying the Houston texans and the Houston oilers share history. They share a city site, that's it.

2 completely different franchises

Guessing your streaks are from the Super Bowl era.

Otherwise longest streak I've found without making the playoffs is 1948-1971 (24 years) by the Steelers.

exactly right on the Browns. There were no Browns from '96-98. But technically he is right. The fans and city were so pissed when they moved to Baltimore (and became Ravens) that they filed some lawsuits against the league. They cut a deal that they would get the next expansion team (1999) and they would retain the rights to all the previous Browns history. So in Cleveland you will find all the Otto Graham to Belichick official records. In Baltimore (thought that was the former Browns) you will find no history before 1996.
