So Payton is calling Shockey's injury "more of a knee bruise" which could be ok. It just depends on how deep the bruise is and how fast Shockey's body is able to recover. That's if that is really the problem.

Meachem says he's gonna play, and I hope that he can. If not though I think the offense will be fine, but I think it is very important that Shockey is healthy and ready to go.

I think both of these injuries are worse than they are letting on. But Meachem said he will do everything in his power to play in the biggest game of his life, I think we will depend in David Thomas and Lance Moore a lot in this game

shockey has had a pretty good year for all the haters that were on his back. He was worth a 2nd. He has been a man on blocking and been average at catching maybe even above average. He is probably the best blocking TE in the league that can also catch decent.

+1 i would much rather shockey on the field for the underneath threat than dipping snuff on the sideline. that being said i believe it would take alot to keep him off the field yet again in the middle of a superbowl run

More than anything we need Shockey's swagger and attitude

Seems like a bruise would be more about pain tolerance than a physical hindrance. Of course it looked like it hurt like a mother fricker against the Cards, but hopefully he's feeling better.

It all depends on how deep the bruise is. Badly bruise knees can be like being given a dead leg. You loose your strength in your knee and can't really plant off of it.

I think everyone will play. I'm more scared of the Vikings than the Colts or Jets, so I think they should play their asses off through the injury.
