Good hire. Much better than Monken. Hell probably better than Dooley.

Do you have to be the son of a famous coach to coach at La. Tech?
That's three in a row now.

Agreed.
I think the Sonny Dykes is as close to a homerun hire as you can have at Louisiana Tech the grandslam would've been Malazhan, but think he wants a more high profile type job.

Future La Tech coach, Bo Miles

So you guys like this hire? I don't know much about Dykes but I've been reading up on him the past few minutes and he coached with Leach and vastly improved the offense at Arizona. Is he a good fit for Tech?

Perfect fit.
La Tech needs this type of offense due to their recruiting limitations.

If he's any good, he'll be gone in less than five years.
That's the problem with being a stepping stone.

Yep, the alternative is to hire someone average that no one will every want to hire like Les Miles.

Good to hear. Hes also got ties to Texas which COULD help with recruiting that area. I don't suppose anyone knows what his personality is like? I know hes a young guy (40) which is good but what was perfect about Dooley is that he was young and energetic which created a buzz among the students and the fanbase and we averaged decent attendance this year. I hope that Dykes can build upon what Coach Dooley started

How will Creer, Morrow and Duplessis fit into his scheme? Paige, Cruz, Livas and Molton should have a field day

Obviously Dykes is a pass happy guy and I'm not sure how he did in the running game at Arizona but at TT, thats a very pass heavy league not filled with running backs. At Tech we now have an SEC caliber running back and Duplessis isn't bad himself. I hope we don't completely abandon the run game because it was a solid factor in our offense this year
