Or do we let him go?

none of the above.
Contract extension with restructuring his deal to approx 6-8 mill

He's due 8 mill, which would make him
the higest paid rb in the league. No team
can afford that with the bargaining agreement and cap, so I see him restructuring
with us for around 4.5-5 mill

Are you referring to his game today as a reason to pay him his full contract? If so, we need to see more playoff performances. If not, there have already been multiple threads on this, but I too think we should try and restructure him to an incentive based contract but everyone would say this when it might not be too easy. We just need to see where his head is at after the season is over.
He could be one of those gems who has a quietly successful regular season and then goes BEASTMODE in the playoffs, and if we as a franchise want to keep this good play that we started this season going, we are going to need those guys that just go OFF in the playoffs.

getting that pop star to take that big of a pay cut is going to be hard work

I'm happy for Reggie. I just hope this sticks, he's had a few other games where it looks like he's finally gotten it and then he loses it again.
For those of you who always wonder what the haters want from Reggie, what he delivered yesterday is what they've been waiting for. I'm more pleased by the decisive north/south running than the attempted trucking, but it was nice to see Reggie gain several yards after contact.
The numbers are pretty clear cut, Brees justifiably takes up the largest chunk of the salary cap on offense at about $12 million, then the next most important cogs like Shockey, Colston, and Jamal Brown are in the $3 - 4 million range. Bush needs to be closer to them than Brees, which is not currently the situation. I haven't seen any behavior to indicate that Bush is an ego maniacal primadona, in fact I've seen the opposite. If he knows whats good for him he'll restructure and be part of the Saints dynasty.

he's finally come into his own and with this play i'd pay him the 8 mil. preferably 6.5 a year but i can deal with 8.

If Reggie wins us a SB I say give him his own parish. Avoyelles perhaps.

Endorsement deals, radio shows, etc don't count towards the cap, so I think that can work

So Reggie Bush finally has one good game as a Saint and now deserves 8 million per year? He needs to earn the money he already has gotten from the Saints before they pay him anymore. Let him go. RBs are a dime a dozen.
