That's a bit ridiculous. Wish we could get half that many.

Yeah, something's fishy for that many to be able to enroll early like that. I was pretty smart in high school and there's no way I could've taken enough credits to do that even as just a student.

Not to mention, the NCAA clearinghouse can't do anything quickly yet all these guys can enroll in the spring, does that automatically clear them for spring practice.

I fricked off as a student, failed some classes as a freshman and was a full semester behind but from my sophomore year until graduation I was able to make it up and graduate in 4 years with no summer school or anything. I don't find it difficult to see kids graduate a semester early especially if they never fricked up to begin with. I don't see a problem with this. Sounds like florida got some very dedicated kids.

The kids that enroll early put in the application 2-3 months before they enroll. They usually send papers to multiple schools.Elam for Florida put in paper to FLA,FSU and WVU just in case he had a change of heart.Plus there are far fewer applications to sort thru in the winter than in the summer. The summer apps are almost every kid in the country. The winter apps make up maybe 5-10% of all the kids going in.Hence the slow process.Bama also has a lot in early.

it's becoming more and more popular at UF. Dunkley tried to enroll early but couldn't because of a Spanish class. As for it being fishy, it's not at all. A lot of these EEs decide early in the recruiting process that they want to enroll early. I don't know about you guys but I remember only having one real class I needed to take my senior year in high school. Counselors work out these schedules to make being an EE possible.

I think UT now has 10 in, although 4 were in for Bowl practices which is even better for them - Matt Milton got both lit up by Berry but also scored on him.

Tyler Bray - QB
Channing Fugate - FB
Matt Milton - WR
Matt Simms - QB Juco
Kenbrell Thompkins - WR Juco
JaWuan James - OL
Jacquez Smith - DE/LB
Brandon Willis - DE/DT
Ted Meline - WR/DB
Corey Miller - DE

Huge for Bray to be in aswell

How come LSU gets so few?

I think allowing early enrollees to participate in team activities during their first spring semester should be eliminated by the NCAA. It is just another tactic that coaches are using to get an edge on the competition.

The NCAA has so many stupid rules that are supposedly in place to promote fairness and parity, and then some practices like this it totally ignores.

The NCAA can't stop a student-athlete from graduating high school early and enrolling in college, but it can very easily prevent a player from participating in spring team activities.

I don't know why the NCAA just doesn't say that a freshman student-athlete is not allowed to participate in team activities until July 1st and eliminate this silliness.

Almost half of the classes at Florida, Tennessee, etc. are already enrolled in school, yet the NCAA deosn't even have its national signing period starting until February. Am I the only one who finds this strange?

I would see a problem with this if only UF,UT and Bama were allowed to do it, but they are not. Every school has the same opportunity, so why not take advantage.

I had enough credits to graduate early but because I played ball I took electives I didnt need. Maybe I am just older but we had alot of people mostly guys that had enough credits to graduate from high school in Dec. Many did and would then get jobs in plants or on maintenance crew in plants as electricians and what have you.

I would like to see some of the 2011 class enroll early knowing how early they committed.

We don't have many this year because some of our guys are doing enough to get by and most didn't plan to enroll early so they didn't do the work to move ahead. Most of the guys at Florida and Bama that enrolled early will not play next year anyway so it's not a big deal.Tennessee is a different story. They all have a chance to play early thus the benefit of getting in early.
