Saw it tonight with my mom, and it was really good! I laughed a lot, yet it still had some good emotional parts too.

My mom's coworker who got divorced about a year or so ago said it's definitely something divorced people can relate to. My parents aren't divorced and I'm only 19 so both my mom and I obviously couldn't relate with personal experience, but what I loved about the movie is that it's so true-to-life. Instead of a cheesy love story, it's something real people go through.

My wife, my mother in law and my daughter went to see it yesterday. I stayed home and watched football.

For a chick flick, it looks pretty funny to be honest.

Its getting some pretty harsh reviews for a Meryl Streep film.

I didn't realize you were only 19. If I had known that I would have expended more effort in sexually harassing you.

LL I saw it Christmas night w/ my mom. I agree with your review and my parents aren't divorced so I couldn't really relate to it from that perspective either. However I thought Meryl Streep (who I LOVE) and Alec Baldwin were a great combo. John Krasinski (Jim from The Office) was hilarious too.

I really like Meryl Streep's house in the movie!!

For those of you who saw it, did you like the ending? It wasn't what I wanted.

I just saw it earlier today and thought it was a lot better than the reviews. Ditto on Meryl, Alec and John Kransikski. The reviews said it was predictable but didn't think the ending was. I think there were hints in some things Jane/Meryl said throughout about working too hard to get to where she was that led me to believe it might not end as expected.

This is exactly what I told my boyfriend to try to convince him to see it with me. I ended up going without him, but I was going to use this line on him. He agreed.

That's all I thought about was that her house was beautiful, her cooking looked awesome, her dishes and kitchen tools and garden were all gorgeous.

Makes me want to go decorate and stock a home.

SPOILER!!!!!!!!!! *********

And I actually did like the ending. I know nothing about divorce so I could be way off-base with this, but my mom's friend who recently went through a divorce and tried again with her ex husband said exactly what this movie said: they both did what they could to move on and once that happens, you can't go back. Even though it would have been nice to see a happy ending with them, I think the writers did a good job keeping it realistic.

I would have liked it either way honestly though because the rest of the movie was pretty good.
