Less is best.

Kosher or sea salt, fresh black pepper.

Get the grill very hot.

my favorite burger recipe is as follows:

1. Call Mason's Grill
2. Order a cheeseburger
3. Go pick it up
4. Enjoy the hell out of it
5. Dont try to duplicate the recipe, its imposible

Sorry for the sarcasm. Diets make me grumpy!!!

I know this sounds simple, but I started doing this years ago and have no complaints. Buy a Lipton Onion Soup mix box, mix it in about a half cup of water and mix it in your ground beef. Salt and pepper them as they cook. A meatloaf mix will accomplish the same thing.

Also, I have always heard the secret to the perfect burger is that you only flip it once.

This is the best with goood quality fresh meat...either on the grill or I had some finish nicely in black iron over med high heat on the stove the other day. However, if you want a good, different twist, in addition to the above, baste the burgers with a good soy sauce a few times while grilling. Also, I sometimes add a little soy, maybe a T per lb of meat, and 2 T of Tiger Sauce per lb before I make the patties.Usually will add a bit of garlic to this version, too.
