Does anyone have any knowledge why LSU and Texas baseball teams have not scheduled a home and home series. Talk about pack the respective stadiums. Why ?????

Lsu baseball doesn't exactly go balls out with their schedule...and I know that UT tends to schedule big boys from the west. In recent years, the Horns' have play CSF, Long Beach State, Stanford (almost every year), Arizona, Arizona State, etc.

I wish LSU would do that more...just for some fan intrigue at the least.

CSF will be traveling to LSU in 2011 I think. No trip out west to play CSF at home at this point.

I agree with you TexasTiger and if it is in fact all about money then how in the hell could you go wrong with a LSU/Texas series. LSU and Texas have the largest seating capacities in major college baseball.

Ok, ignore that since about 2001 LSU has played at Arizona State and Long Beach State. It's not like LSU absolutely never does that.

I agree...I mean, the schedule at this point doesn't effect a team the way it does in football...so why not?

Yeah, Texas took 2 out of 3 from LSU in Austin in 1998 and took 2 out of 3 from LSU at the Box in 1999.

So you want us to play the top teams OOC during the regular season, play the SEC schedule, then get throught the SEC tourney, regional, super-regional, and CWS.

Uh, okay.

If it is about money then it has to be a hell of a lot cheaper for Texas to fly to BR from Austin than flying out to the west coast. The meals and motels acccomodations have to be cheaper. You have to wonder if one team or the other just simply do not want to play the other, it does not make common sense. I do not beleive BB schedules are made up years in advance, are they?

For the longest time, TU would not play a non-conference game out of state, tho I am not sure if that was Augie's rule or not.

Baseball isn't as taxing as football. Besides...we play jack shite for non-conference. Michigan State? Illinois? St. Mary's? Even ULL and Tulane aren't what they used to be.

I know Texas usually does one big trip out west, usually including Stanford, and then maybe one or two others on the way back down. I am pretty sure baseball schedules are made up about a year in advance.

Who cares? It looks like an easy OOC schedule really hurt us last season.

Read the thread moron. Nobody is saying it hurts us. this is just for entertainment purposes for the fans, and a little bit more big game experience. We could get swept by the Horns in a non-conf. series and it won't mean a whole lot. Big deal. But the fans would turn out big time...more revenue for the team.

Well "RummelTiger" I honestly think it would be more beneficial as an early season home at home series than playing the likes of La.Tech, Centenary,NLU, etc. and I think it would be a hell of a recruiting tool for both schools.
