Man, I would think bud has the VTech coach in waiting tag. Not sure how much longer Beamer has, but Bud would surely get the first look.

I don't think Bud Foster is going anywhere. I think it's a given that he will be the head coach when Beamer leaves.

Richt was especially attracted by how well Foster's defense performed against Gary Crowton's offense.

Why not Kirby? He won the Frank Broyles award. Isn't he a UGA man?

Donnan said on the radio earlier something to the effect that they may have tried to get Kirby but Kirby wants to stick around Bama and maybe be in a better position to be a HC in a few yrs.

If so, Georgia would automatically vault LSU in SEC power rankings. It would look like this.

1. Alabama
2. Florida
3. Tennesse
4. Ole Miss
5. Georgia
6. LSU

with Arkansas nipping at our heels.

Wow, are we ready to start playing for 6th place??

no way bud foster leaves v-tech. he's been there forever, and if he leaves, it will be for a head coach position.

i'm not sure what you are basing this on, but this is just stupid. georgia has a good chance to win the east next year, but its because florida will be in rebuilding mode. no way we are sixth in the conference, we aren't losing anybody that isn't replaceable.
next year should be more like:
1. Alabama
2. Lsu
3. Georgia
4. Florida
5. Tennessee
6. Ole Miss

Report from a pay site is that Richt did talk to Foster but he then told Beamer he was not going anywhere.

Why has he never been a head coach? His defenses are always top 5 every year. Why is he so loyal to Beamer?

wow this is one of the dumbest posts I've read in a while. Tennessee at 3? Next year the only team that I can see ahead of LSU is Bama. Ole Miss wasn't better than LSU this year with Jordan in his first full season. Tennessee wasn't better and will probably be worse next season. UGA wasn't better and will be worse next season. This post is laughable.

If nothing else it's a good sign that Richt is going after top guys instead of just another crony like Willie.

Supposedly, Richt called Beamer for permission to speak with Foster. Later in the day, voila, VT had a raise for Foster. A few things, #1 Foster was never going anywhere and he knew it. #2 The "conversation" with Richt may have just been a smokescreen to get Foster a raise.
