Do you guys think that our fans have adopted the "BCS or Bust" mentality, so that many people consider the season a failure of sorts unless we go to a Tier 1 bowl game? Judging by the sheer number of tickets for sale on the Ticket Exchange, it doesn't appear that LSU fans have much desire to travel to the Capital One Bowl, despite it being the best we could've hoped for outside of an at-large BCS berth (which we all knew wasn't gonna happen).

I think some take it a step further and it is NC game or bust. It is truly sad. Being a student in the 90's, a 7 win season and a bowl game was a pipe dream. Some of our so-called fans are just spoiled rotten.

I can totally relate. I was a student at UT when Mackovic was our coach and I was in grad school at LSU during the final years of the Dinardo era. At that time, both schools were pretty happy with a bowl win of any kind.

I agree with the NC or bust. At the very least SEC champion or bust.

But as for the BCS, I'd rather be playing a traditional power like Penn State in a big NYD bowl than playing Cincy in the Sugar.

Same here. I'd have thought that most LSU fans would be excited about playing a traditional football power with a legendary head coach.

If all you expect is mediocrity then that's all you'll ever get.

I don't call 10 wins mediocrity.

9-3 for LSU should be considered an average year. I think 2009 will and should be remembered as such with the caveat that it was marred by one of the worst game management sequences I have ever seen in any sport.

It certainly seems as if the "shine" has worn off of Miles as far as most LSU fans are concerned. Not even an invite to a pretty damn good bowl against a worthy opponent is enough to salvage what many feel is a mediocre year.

I'm not down about the cap one bowl. I'm pretty stoked about seeing LSU take on PennState. What I'm not enthused about is how LSU got there. A bunch of ugly wins over mediocre-to-crappy teams with little offensive improvement along the way.

That's how I look at it. We're getting to see our team play against one of the most storied programs in college football with its legendary coach. PSU is one of the teams I've always wanted to have a home and home with. That's unlikely, so this is the next best thing.
If the LSU had looked like a well coached team that could execute on both sides of the ball, the fans may be more excited about the trip.
People may have decided against it after seeing the price of flights into Orlando.

All I ever wanted back then was to go 6-5 and to the Indy Bowl.

No, be in the hunt for the SECCG or its a bust. You can't finish 5 games out from an SECCG appearance and then 3 games out from an SECCG appearance and be satisfied.

For those that are, Ole Miss needs fans.

No. It's not the fact that LSU didn't make it. I don't think fans would be as upset if we would have played hard and were beat by a better team. We were out coached in our losses. The team is playing below it's talent level ... that's all on coaching, and it's unacceptable for a coach making $4million/year.

If LSU played hard, and looked good in losses it wouldn't be a big deal, but the games we lost were winnable, and we looked awful all season long. That's why fans are pissed.
