I've been in a big argument with a friend about this...if you were to start a franchise in the NFL who would you rather have

Ben Roethlisberger or Aaron Rodgers

If Big Ben went both ways and played OLB or safety for the defenses that won those super bowls, then I'd be all for him.

Cue someone with a "goes both ways" joke in 3...2...1...

he had possibly the worst super bowl performance of all time, hell Rex Grossman played in a Super Bowl.

Aaron Rodgers is almost an elite NFL QB. You have the 1st tier -->Brees, Manning, Brady, and maybe Favre. He's right behind them and might be better than Favre

I hope you're just pointing that out in jest, unless you'd also take Big Ben over Manning and Brees, LOL.

And the answer is Rodgers, no question for me.

I think Ben is a fringe top 5 QB. But Rodgers is better.

Eli ahead of Ben???

The big 3, of course, then:

Rivers
Rodgers

Then, if we're just talking about right now, this year, Favre and Warner are also ahead of Ben.

no particular order after the big three but yeah, i think eli is better...of course i fricking hate all things pittsburgh so if you asked me i would say jarrett lee is better than ben

In all seriousness, I think we're seeing how much those great defenses meant to pittsburgh. I've always been skeptical of ben while others have lavished him with their praises...i blamed the defenses for the atrocities pittsburgh has committed against the rest of the NFL.

this entire thread basically summarized the argument my friend and I had. It was basically him talking about the super bowl rings, and me saying Pitt's D earned those rings...I'd take Rodgers in a heartbeat as well.

I will say that Ben is probably one of the most clutch QBs in the league.

umm

you're leaving a lot of people out if your top 5 is:

Brees/Brady/Manning
Rodgers
Roethlisberger
