Germans = old news, already discussed

welcome to the board you German cocksucker

it started a long time ago; someone would post something that was old news and they would get a string of various responses referencing old historic events like "we landed on the moon", "titanic sinks; many feared dead/missing", etc. The most popular response eventually was "germans bomb pearl harbor" referencing the line from the movie Animal House where Blutarsky(?) screams out "WAS IT OVER WHEN THE GERMANS BOMBED PEARL HARBOR?"

This eventually was shortened to "germans".

So when a thread was started multiple times on the same topic...or a thread appears about a week after people discussed it to death, people would make comments like...

this just in...man lands on the moon
japan attacks pearl harbor
germany attacks pearl harbor...obviously stuck. Then, it simply was abbreviated to germans.
