LSU did only rush for 40 yards on 27 carries in the game.

"I question plays, but at some point you've got to let go and just do your job," Hitt said. "As much as I wish the coaches had more confidence in the run, I can understand why they don't."

well now that sure does add a different twist to the end. Sounds like the other poster has an agenda.

Maybe because Hitt sucks and I dont know why Shaw or Blackwell or Hurst have not taken his spot permanently yet.

Show the whole statement.
"I question plays, but at some point you've got to let go and just do your job," Hitt said. "As much as I wish the coaches had more confidence in the run, I can understand why they don't. Hell, Walter Payton couldn't run behind me and T-Bob."

Well JJ lost -32 and KW had 11 carries for 40 yards himself but the runs are few and far between. We run for a nice gain and then pass and punt which develops no rythm at all in the offense especially the offensive line. The run game is there but it seems like Crowton will only run out of pistol and shotgun. The physical playcalling is not there and does not wear a defense down. Instead we get finesse playcalling but there is only one problem we are not a finesse team.

I am critical of the election to call "DEEP & SLOW-TO-DEVELOP" pass plays - not pass plays altogether. Hitt's comments were possibly more indepth than they needed to be with the media, but certainly fair. He admitted the inconsistency with the line play all year long, and sounded like he wanted to have the opportunity to prove that the OLine could get the yards on the ground.

Any suggestion that "Miles has lost this team" is a fabrication that the Negatigers would like to see "come to pass". Like the political scene, shite-sniffing media will do their best to stir the pot - let's hope LSU fans don't make this worse than what it is. If enough fans want to create chaos and start an all-out civil war, then that's what we may get - the players won't deserve this, but the fanbase will.

this

I love Hitt's motor & he is an ambassador for LSU & he looks like the son of Coach Stud.

I understand why Les likes him. Unfortunately, the right side of the OLine has been a joke the entire time he has played. It's not JUST his fault but half of it is. I will say that it seems like he has leadership qualities in which NO ONE on offense has stepped up! I wish him luck but I will be glad when he's gone.

Funny you probably weren't saying that when he was our starting RG for our national championship, or last year when Scott rushed for over 1,000 yards.

Maybe Hitt played better in '07 and '08 and didn't deserve to be benched. Starting jobs aren't lifetime appointments.

Let's stay on point here - not going to question whether Hitt should have been on the bench more or less this year - he's admitted to the inconsistencies.

The key point to this thread is to stem some of the BS statements made by the "chaos creators" that "MILES HAS LOST HIS TEAM". The comments from Ridley and Hitt were interesting, but they not overly critical of Miles or Crowton, simply stating their feelings. I read a lot of support in their statements, not just criticism of the coaches.

Hurst took his spot quite a few times against Ole Miss.

Hitt was terrible against Ole Miss.

Even if we blow out Arky, 1 game will not make up for this unproductive, shitty season. Mallet will eat us alive

Here's the deal. I don't necessarily blame a player for making a comment regarding the coaching after Miles threw Jefferson under the bus for his coaching errors. However, Hitt is not the player to do it. Hitt has sucked from the opening whistle of the season. If Jefferson or Lafell or Tolliver said something, then fine. But Hitt and the rest offensive line is one of the fundamental problems with our offense and our team right now.

Yes I was the right side has consistently been the weaker side since 07. Let's see what is the constant there? Lyle Hitt?
