Ole Miss imploded nearly as bad as LSU

As bad as LSU's mishandling of the "back end" of the game, Ole Miss pretty much imploded and would have completely blown the game except for LSU imploding worse at the end. Anyone who wants to say Nutt should EVER be our coach should take a long look at the idiot that is Nutt. What would the Ole Miss folks be saying if we would have pulled it out (which should have happened given a fundamentally sound coaching staff on our sideline). Nutt has a long history of pulling out games and being a good underdog, etc. but he also is a terrible coach fundamentally.

...and you just compared LSU to Ole Miss. You should lose your posting privileges for a week!

That is what has made Ole Piss Ole Piss in recent years. LSU isnt supposed to be the ones imploding.

I feel sure that our Arkansas brethren will agree with this.

This a good post. A bigger meltdown would have been us actually winning. Their DC would have gotten killed for all of the blitzes at the end of the game.

How is being only a little bit more pathetic than Ole Miss supposed to make us feel better, exactly?

His biggest strength as a coach has typically been finding one or two stars on offense, and then just finding a million different weird ways to give them the ball--which kind of makes him a lot like a youth league coach. He gets his teams pumped, and his defenses have been pretty good, but he'll never win any championships with that style of play.

God, I cannot believe it has come to this. Being proud of sucking just as bad as Ole Miss.

Not to make us feel any better, but when people say stuff like "LSU should have hired Nutt when Saban recommended him" just makes me cringe. My point is that Nutt is not much less of a goofball than Miles, if at all.

So dominating LSU in almost every statistical category AND beating the refs = suck? Mmmm kay.

Please. Those were legit calls. You have no idea what it's like to get jobbed by the refs.

Un-fricking-real. Just like an LSU fan. Head in the sand. If it doesn't happen to you, it didn't happen right? Good God.

FTR: We've been monkey fricked up and down the field so many times against LSU alone (ignoring Bama, State and Auburn), you could fill 300 pages of a coffee table book entitled

LSU: We don't just pay the refs, we make sweet love to them.

If you think the diving penalty was a good call, you're insane.
If you think the illegal touching call was good,
you're insane.
If you think the NON CALL on half your freaking TEAM being offsides on the onside kick was correct, you need a lobotomy.
If you think the Ref standing over the ball for 27 seconds before giving the wind the clock signal on the last play was correct, you need to kill yourself because it won't get any more obvious than that.

I agree with you OPR in that the refs helped us a lot in our game against you. On the Jefferson pick six, I thought both the celebration and the block in the back were both bad calls. Our lineman actually touched your player while he was diving into the end zone. However, I wouldn't want Nutt as LSU's coach. The only reason LSU beat Arky back in 2006 was because Nutt had a horrible plan at the end of the game. McFadden/Jones were eating LSU's defense alive, yet Nutt thought it was a good idea to beat us through the air, which failed.

You are a rational human being. I salute you. And that's perfectly fine with me, want Nutt or don't, it's all good. But the other posters are suggesting that we collapsed at the end of that game. Disagree. Our player made an error in not going after the onside kick. Our PLAYER didn't get position in front of the hail mary, etc. HDN coached a pretty strong game to get past LSU and the Refs. We could have certainly done a few things better and beaten LSU by alot wider margin, but I'll take the W and have confidence that my coach will not repeat past mistakes (LSU/Arky '06). If he does repeat them, see ya HDN, who's next?

From the Commercial Appeal:

"If they had gotten in a formation I hadn't seen, I would have called a time out, because I had two time outs left," Nutt said.
