What is the difference between Coker and Miles.

Both take over at successful programs.
Both considered good men.
Both win a national title early.
Both struggle following the title.
We know what happens to Coker, what about Miles?

Put aside our personal feelings (I do think Miles is a good man) but look at his SEC record the last two years and compare it to Saban, Meyer or even Nutt. The SEC is now loaded with great coaches. Arky is moving up, Ole Miss is beating us, Miss State is getting better, Bama is now way above LSU. We have the talent. Do we want to be a 4th or 5th place SEC team with the occasional shot at winning the SEC or do we want to be where we have been, where Bama is now. I dont know about you, but Bama has taken our place in the SEC and I am mad as hell about it. I dont care who our coach is, just get the job done and keep LSU atop the SEC. We have the talent and facilities but the job is not getting done.

One of the main differences is that LSU recruiting has not suffered under Miles the way Miami's did under Coker.

I still think Miles is a much better coach then Coker, but Miles seems to be losing the team, much like Coker did.

ETA: Not quite as bad as Coker did

Coker's record regressed every year he coached. Miles still has a chance to win 10 games this year and improve his mark from last season.

Aside from recruiting not suffering under Miles, Coker had thugs take over his team when he refused to discipline them. Miles, on the other hand made the difficult decision to boot our star qb and best player off the team, which has ultimately contributed to his demise.

I know he made a ton of coaching mistakes and I'm not defending him, but if he didn't do the right thing and kick Perriloux off the team, our 7-8 SEC record is something closer to 11-4 or better.

7-8 in SEC play....that is not acceptable at LSU.....0 for November since 2007...not acceptable at LSU.....being in the 100's nationally in total offense is not acceptable at LSU
