Because he shouldn't have even been in pass blocking situation. He should have been run blocking 3 times in a fricking row, period, end of story.

well to be fair, the tv announcers blamed that one on JJ. if he had any pocket awareness, he would have stepped up in the pocket and the protection would have been perfect.

but also, ciron black has been awful and totally ruined his draft stock

Because he didn't get beat. Black shoved the guy 10 yards away from line. It isn't Black's fault that JJ has no pocket awareness.

JJ needs to step up in the pocket, u want to force a speed rusher back like he did, JJ took like a 12 step drop right into him

We've seen since the beginning of the season that Ciron won't be playing on Sunday's. I don't know if it's mental, or poor coaching, but he has all the ingredients for success, and yet it has eluded him.

ciron definately got beat, but it is just as much jefferson's fault. he needs to step up in the pocket and get rid of the ball quicker.

b/c he did what every OT is supposed to do. he got a hand on the guy and pushed him around the pocket. QBs are supposed to step up into the pocket. JJ stepped back and by doing that, blew up the pocket.

Perhaps it was because it was a good block. If JJ had stepped into the pocket instead of moving sideways and backwards, that guy never would have had a shot at him. One of the few times this year I've felt Ciron gave a good effort.

JJ stepped back into the Ole Miss DE. He should have stepped up. Ciron did nothing wrong on that play.

Ciron blocked the DE to the outside and JJ walked into the sack

if he had moved up in the pocket, he gets and extra 2-3 seconds

Yea it's staggering how many people (including our starting QB) have little understanding of the QB pocket concept.

Black did a great job blocking on that play. Tackles are taught to push their man out of the play, had JJ stepped up like he's supposed to, then black would have done exactly as his job is described.

He did what he was coached to do on the play. He drove the guy outside and up the field.

It was JJ's "fault" for scrambling instead of stepping up in the pocket ( like an experienced QB would).

The call was the coaching staff's fault. The sack was Jefferson's fault. Black did exactly what an OL should have done. He forced his guy to the outside. The QB should have step UP into the pocket and avoided the sack. Instead, JJ ran backwards and to the right, right into the sack.

well, no fricking shite .. but since we did drop back to pass .. if his man doesn't sack jefferson, he runs out of the pocket, completes a pass, or throws it out of bounds ...

Dude, rewatch the play. It was NOT Black's fault.

i'd like to see a replay on that .. i don't think black played the technique some are claiming here ...
